When younger, I traveled from Maine to Florida to California and points in between,
never worrying much about staying overnight in hotels or motels.

Now I am afraid to, as even 5 star hotels can have bedbugs.
They can get into your clothing, suitcase, etc and go home with you.

I, rightly or wrongly, blame the banning of DDT for an increase in these and other critters.

A TV news story told how some college students' dorm got infested after they had eaten at a popular restaurant,
the bugs being in the leather bench seats at the place.
The exterminators used a spray called 'Bedlam Plus'.
