9. This reminds me of an image that I was not able to unsee at a craft show.

One of the employees at our local Trader Joe's makes jewelry, and often wears her own creations at the store. I once expressed admiration for one of her pieces, and she told me she was about to be at a nearby art show.

When I got to her display, there were several items that looked good at first glance. As I looked more closely, I was taken aback by how many of her designs looked exactly like sperm swimming toward an egg. I have no idea if this was intentional or an unfortunate design flaw.

It's probably the nurse in me, but once I had that image in my mind, I could not talk myself into buying earrings or a pendant that looked like a slide from biology class.

I didn't have the nerve to ask her if she meant for her pieces to look that way. If not, she probably would have been horrified by my interpretation.
