Jaguar kills off its model line, with no clear plan for the future [View all]

Once an icon of luxury, style and exclusivity, Jaguar may be on its last legs.

The brand’s been in retreat for years. As Jaguar prepares to end production of all its current models, and with no certain replacements in the pipeline, there’s reason to wonder whether the 102-year-old British brand will ever come back.

The F-type, a delightful little convertible — the sort of car for which Jag was once renowned — goes out of production next year. No replacement is planned.

The rest of Jag’s lineup is on borrowed time, too. Experts who track vehicle development also expect the XE, XF and F-Pace to end production next year, leaving only the electric I-Pace, which might soldier on until 2027.
