14. My understanding of the background....

If I recall, when the car first came out, it was a throw-away. Run it for a year or so and it would break down.

Around 1998, the company closed production. They reviewed the repair records from dealers and re-engineered the car. That is what we have today.

That is the opposite business plan from American made cars:
Make shit.
When people figure out its shit,
Put more chrome on it.

My last Amer. car was a Ford, brand new at $41k. I kept it two years. It would break down on the N.J. Turnpike, on my way to work. Dealer couldn't figure out what was wrong. This happened several times until I was afraid to drive it anywhere because I didn't know if I would make it back home.
