This issue is another example of corrpution that makes me think the Olympics should just go away. They will soon become a luxury no one can afford to participate in anyway. The biosphere is transitioning to conditions that will kill us, we'd best put all our resources into that. The Olympics is a behemoth of corruption and waste that seems to be swept under the rug in order to promote a sense of grandeur that has become something far from what it was intended to be.
