Because LIV results & earnings don't count toward world rankings, several high profile members go through qualifying measures. Koepka & DeChambeau would be examples.
Several of the others are past champions and they've ALWAYS been part of the Masters. (Except, obviously, the first one.) Johnson, Mickelson, Watson, Garcia, Reed...
Out of 17 LIV players who might play the tournament, 7 were automatically eligible anyway.
I don't think this is the big news some sports pundits are making it.
