2. I honestly feel sorry for this girl. Did she deliberately use the banned substance or was it

given to her by the PTB? I don't know if we'll ever know the answer, but, given Russia's history, she may have been given the substance without her knowledge. Why she was allowed to compete at all after a dirty drug screen is beyond my comprehension. It threw her into the middle of a scandal that I'm sure she was not prepared for.

At any rate, she has been the focus of international attention and under an extreme amount of pressure over the last few weeks. I can't imagine dealing with that situation as an adult, much less a 15 year old child.
