This denigration of elders began to be noticable immediately after Joe stepped down to pave the way for Kamala.

I'm not blaming Joe, it's just that some of the younger folks saw this as open season on elders, presuming we are all lazy, inept, whatever.

I'd been talking to a salesman at a Verizon store who had told me about an upcoming timeframe when new phones would be coming out and the one I wanted would likely be significantly discounted. So I called the store back a couple of times, each time the line was answered by a youngish snotty sounding man who laughed when I asked for the "middle aged salesman" He came right out and said, "oh, you mean the really old guy with gray hair," laughing. Then he went on to say "I think he's on some kind of old person medical leave." What a dick.

This was a store in Arkansas, for whatever it's worth. I won't do business there, just on principle.
