NOWHERSVILLE- Police were called Tuesday afternoon to the Nonexistent Subdivision of Nowheresville for a report of a man sitting outside his home displaying a banner with the word "MOTHER{redacted}".

A passing motorist in the 000 block of Notthere Drive called police after seeing the man with the banner, according to Nowheresville Police Department Deputy Hughes Herdovum.

The man, who was not arrested and will not be identified, told police he was exercising his First Amendment rights, Herdovum said, adding that he was sewing a tear in the banner.

“He had an additional banner with a swastika on it and also bumper stickers on which the N-word was prominent.” Herdovum said. “ He made no gestures, he wasn’t threatening anybody. He made no statements to anyone.”

Although desiring to be respectful of the man's First Amendment rights, police confiscated the banner and warned that any further offenses might lead to his arrest.

Police were no doubt mindful of previous incidents in Nowheresville where obscene banners discharged and several adults and children were injured and there was one fatality.
