for the last week. Everyone is having a shit fit because after years of discussions with the FAA they make this knee jerk decision based on media hype because anyone anywhere can buy an aircraft that pretty much flies itself. In understand the lure and the risks. It's a lot of fun to go out and tear up the sky. I pay dues to an organization that sanctions my activity and insures me for liability if something goes wrong and I do harm. Even that comes with major restrictions. I can only fly at designated sites and must follow safety guidelines to minimize risk. If I screw up I can be sanctioned. Those of us who have gotten into model aviation though this traditional path are already known quantities. We joined an organization, paid our dues, and made ourselves known.

To me the gun humper who insists that there be no restrictions on ownership of an intentionally deadly device are far worse than the stupid shit who can buy a device that can be a lot of fun until it's not.
