in the past 5 years where homosexuality (or a lack of sexual bias) is actually quite common in the animal kingdom. Obviously most (but not all) animals need some kind of male-female sex to procreate, it does not follow that all the intimate relationships are male-female.

I suppose some of that was known long ago, but it seems that the reporting has been quite active lately, perhaps in response to all those sexually insecure Republicans who want government to force them to be straight and narrow.
