Many companies went through restructurings, changes of ownership, brand shuffles. Brands are an asset, awareness, goodwill capital. Brands are rarely retired.

Electrolux and Husqvarna, two Swedish behemoths, were victims of the fallout from central banking leverage in the 1990s. (SAAB was also a victim, but one that succumbed.) Husqvarna was sold and resold or restructured. A company that can trace its roots to steel making in the 1500s now owns several US power equipment brands, especially in chainsaws. For a time, Electrolux owned Husqvarna.

Husqy brands Husqvarna, Gardena, McCulloch, PoulanPro, Weed Eater, Flymo, Jonsered, Klippo, Diamant Boart.

Electrolux owns many brands, AEG, Electrolux, Electrolux Grand Cuisine, Electrolux Professional, Eureka, Frigidaire, Molteni, Westinghouse, Zanussi.
