The phonograph needle ball trick. 78 rpm phonograph needle, 3/8 inch long. Inserted into seams changes "stuff" immediately. Pops out at contact with catchers mitt or bat. Catcher calls the pitch which is loaded by pitcher on the mound. Only used in game situations with runners on base.

They were champions of their league.....and never caught!
