9. Ask the vet about topically applied medication. It is great,

It is a cream which you rub on the inside of the cat's ears. Since it isn't swallowed it doesn't interfere with stomach activity and our cat tolerated it well. He would not take medicine, but the cream was just fine.

It was not that expensive but we had to get it from a compounding pharmacy . It came prepackaged in syringes; a week's supply per syringe. We pumped out the marked dosage and rubbed into the ear (on the pointy part), alternating ears each time. We did it 2 x daily.

I wish all cat meds came in topical form.
