Carys is still surprising me. [View all]
Last night my friend and I were sitting in the den. I looked over at the chair on my right and there was Carys! In full view! That's the chair that she hides under. She even came to me for some pets and scritches! She hasn't ventured out when people are visiting, other than racing from hiding spot to hiding spot, since just after I brought her in.
She spent an extended amount of time rubbing her face against my hand and arm and made a few false starts at climbing on to my lap, but then she'd look at my friend and decide that was just a step too far. At one point she did join Madoc on the back of my chair and started rubbing against him. It was obvious she really wanted his attention.
My friend is a cat mom who also rescues cats and helped me rescue Carys and her siblings, last year. She was thrilled to FINALLY see Carys, again.
I hope that's the first step towards Carys starting to trust.
She just trotted across my lap to what seems to be her new favorite 'in view' spot - on a green tub that sits next to the printer.
