9. We had a mimosa tree in our front yard

that brought throngs of hummingbirds. They nested in it and were apparently attracted to the blooms as well. The downside of mimosa trees is their ability to seed elsewhere but they sure gave us many hours of enjoyment watching the hummingbirds. They also attract butterflies and bees, so it can be a win-win.
