8. We had a series of storms that started around 9 pm

and continued, in waves, until 2 am.

Ember started giving wary glances at my living room window about 30 minutes before any thunder or rain. She sensed that it was coming. Soon as it started, she was behind the couch.

Poor girl. Each time after the rain stopped and she came out, another wave came through within 30 to 45 minutes. Zoom! Back behind the couch when the thunder started up again.

After the last wave ended she snuggled close to me in bed.

I wonder if the reaction of cats to storms is due to fear, to instinct to find shelter, or just to the sound since their hearing is so good.
