7. It does get better as they mature and mellow.

Ember was the most active, mischievous trouble making kitten I had ever seen. Into everything. More energy than the Energizer Bunny. Constantly knocking things to the floor and breaking them - cups, glasses, plates, lamps, a glass lamp shade, refrigerator magnets and their notes, etc. She was an expert at hiding nearby to snatch food off of the counter when I was cooking. Buried her face into a bowl of flour when I was making muffins (and sneezed, of course).

But she's 7 now and no longer snatches food or supervises its preparation. Still knocks things to the floor, but focuses more on books and papers now and leaves the cups and glasses alone. Buries her head in shopping bags when I come home to see what's in them, but only occasionally snatches things to run off with.
