Now the kidcats are REALLY out of control! [View all]

I was bringing my sewing machine downstairs when I heard a weird thud. The kidcats had knocked over a heavy wrought iron stand that contained a glass bowl. Because it fell on carpet I didn't hear the glass bowl SHATTERING. EVERYWHERE.

In the past, this would have triggered a BIG explosion of temper. Now I just sigh and take care of the matter because the kidcats, even at their most mischievous, are far more precious than any material thing.

After taking a DEEP breath I put on shoes and picked up as much of the glass as I could (it was a BIG bowl) and then did a really good vacuuming of the area, and beyond because I don't want them getting their paws cut. Or my feet.

BUT now my hands are shaking so hard I can't thread the needle in the sewing machine! So I guess that can wait. Meanwhile I'll drink a glass of chardonnay and thaw some chicken for a nice stir fry. And scritch the kidcats. Unconditional love is a powerful force.
