Winter is already feeling long! [View all]

Even with temperatures much milder than I expected up here in New England (thanks, global warming!), I am still getting a case of the doldrums-- probably exacerbated by not having a garden this summer due to the move.

Maybe a new houseplant is in order. Can anyone suggest an interesting one? Preferably one that doesn't need direct sunlight. All my windows are spoken for (or directly above a radiator and thus plant-unfriendly in the winter months.)

I'm also starting some paperwhites this week, so maybe that will help my itching green thumb.
