Warm temps finally coming to Northern Michigan... [View all]

Today is moving day for my hot peppers and sweet potato slips. Out of the indoor grow tent and down to the greenhouse. Overnight temps will be above freezing.
In spite of the crazy variable weather lately we’re only a couple weeks behind optimum schedule…no big deal.

That’s only for plants. We’ve rebuilt the greenhouse, strengthened the old straw bales and conditioned a couple more new ones.

The old bales are going on their third year and were starting to sag a bit but mostly ok…structure-wise. I had a bunch of welded wire pieces laying around, so I wrapped them around the bales to retain their original shape…somewhat.

Ground temps still need to come up but the raised beds are warming nicely. Now with the indoor tent empty I can start to get our summer cannabis crop going.

It’s amazing what warm weather can do.
