Can Crisco go bad? [View all]

I am making a recipe that calls for shortening and my crisco has sat in my kitchen cupboard
for @ least 64 years and it seems a little off.

BTW making red beans and rice for my Clintonville (Columbus Ohio) neighbor’s Mardi Gras party
and the recipe called for shortening but my crisco seemed different. So I used some olive oil for
the vegetables, garlic, creole spices, and sausage….andouille.
