In 1987 I learned from a friend that eggs will stay fresh for weeks!!! You just need to rotate them a little in their container and they're ready to go.

She had sailed from San Francisco to Hawaii and she told me about this tip.

I also learned from a student from the Philippians that butter can stay out of the fridge for a few days without going bad.
