Found a George Taft who lived in Chicago [View all]

We had him listed as John Doe in the Manitowoc Evergreen cemetery. Found the obituary for him in case anyone is looking for George.

George Taft, a Chicago youth, employed as a fireman on the tug Lindrup
was lost overboard at Two Rivers Sunday night when the tug was entering
the harbor after a trip from Milwaukee. Taft had been “off duty” and was
aroused upon arrival at Two Rivers. He became confused and fell from the
rail into the lake. The unfortunate man was 23 years of age and was a
new hand on the Lindrup. The body was not recovered.
