5. It's worth calling them to negotiate

I originally called to get a limited time membership. To do that, you specify the end date at the same time you enroll. When it was about to run out, I called because I was having trouble with their online pages and they offered me a really nice deal WITH an upgrade to World for nothing.

If you just go online, you'll not be able to try to make a deal. In your case, call to ask about just getting your tree downloaded. Then you can reluctantly agree to a deal, but stay balky and they will drop the price.

By the way, I can't download your tree as a Gedcom. I guess only the tree owner can. If need be, I could keep adding members to a tree of mine until I got the whole thing, then I could download my tree as a Gedcom.
