1. Managed Care destroyed the mental health system over 25 yrs ago.

Insurance companies all decided they didn't want to pay mental health providers,
despite state laws to the contrary.

No one stopped them.

Many providers went out of business, took other jobs.
Young people stopped going into psychiatry, psychology, counseling, etc.

The mental health community warned and warned about what was happening.
But no one cared. We used to have pretty good community and low cost
mental health services back in the day. And many providers.

Not true today at all.
