1. So glad to see the answer was plant-based diet and not some goofy fad

I replaced about 90+% of meat with plant-based proteins a few years ago, combined with quitting alcohol altogether. I literally never have to watch my weight now. And I'm about to be 55 next month, the time when most people really start accumulating fat, particularly in the belly. And I feel better too!

True story, I not only weigh what I did 35 years ago, I don't carry belly weight anymore. The final kicker is that I rarely miss eating meat. It's a great time to be a (mostly) vegan.

I know it sounds hard to eat this way, but it was actually much easier than I ever dreamed. If anyone is interested in learning more about the health benefits of a plant-based diet, I highly recommend the book "How Not to Die" by Dr. Michael Greger. Because growing older is hard enough without self-inflicting food-based illness on ourselves.
