I've been on a low glycemic/sugar diet for some years. My pre-diabetes diagnosis hasn't progressed and I'm happy with that. However, I observe people at the market buying candy, glazed donuts, ice cream and other sugar-heavy products. So I accept that for some reason I can't tolerate sugar the way they can.

I'm happy with the dietary guidelines listed on the foods I purchase here in New Mexico. All the information is helpful and I consider myself to be responsible for knowing how much of what is healthy.

We all have to do our part in knowing that and not depend on government agents to follow us around the stores telling us what to buy. Disclaimer: when I celebrate a family birthday I'll eat some cake and ice cream. So far so good.
