People are justifiably outraged at the culture that surrounded this incident. (lack of respect, protection, etc.)
But that doesn't overtake the fact that proving (or charging) any sort of crime here - was always going to be a uphill battle.

(And then too - OK is a cesspool of this kind of anti-gay reactionary right posturing. With your AG, governor and most of the statehouse running on this sort of platform! So it's really unclear if there would be any real appetite - either local or state - even if facts and circumstance lent themselves to a much easier case .. ? But in this case - not much shot.)
