Europe has amazing public transportation infrastructure. They will take the wonderful trains they have instead of flying.

Many years ago my family took a trip to the area near Cadiz. Rather than flying to Madrid and connecting to a flight to our destination we flew to Madrid and then took the train south. It was so much fun for our family with young children rather than simply flying. Trains in Europe are wonderful and fast.
