Among many other things, renewable energy can be used to generate hydrogen for use as a non-fossil, clean fuel. They are not rebranding fossil fuels, they are attempting to replace fossil fuels in the production of hydrogen.

The reason Donald Trump is waging a war against "windmills" and renewable energy is because those industries threaten to reduce fossil fuels.
