Keep it honest and don't overstate your credentials. This doesn't mean you can't use your best writing abilities in crafting your objective, knowledge and skills.

Be careful who you allow to connect with. I keep mine limited to the people I know and have worked with or people I have met and have high regards in my profession. It's not Facebook.

Use it to network, to see where jobs are, join professional groups that you are interested in. Comment when you have thorough knowledge at the topic on hand or to ask intelligent questions.

It's basically a CV on display. Use it to your advantage and best of luck with your search for employment.
