How long do you give a new job? [View all]

I accepted a new job at my employer. at their request. After a couple of weeks, it already seems far from what I expected. Far more tedious and data pushing than I had hoped. Do I ride it out aa few more weeks, months, six months? I'm already feeling pretty miserable. Would they want to be told this early I feel I've made a mistake? Or would they want to be told at all?
