UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE WEEKLY CLAIMS
SEASONALLY ADJUSTED DATA
In the week ending October 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted
initial claims was 214,000, a decrease of 12,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised down by 2,000 from 228,000 to 226,000. The 4-week moving average was 212,250, an increase of 1,250 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised down by 500 from 211,500 to 211,000.
The advance seasonally adjusted
insured unemployment rate was 1.0 percent for the week ending October 8, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous week's revised rate. The previous week's rate was revised down by 0.1 from 1. to 0.9 percent. The advance number for seasonally adjusted
insured unemployment during the week ending October 8 was 1,385,000, an increase of 21,000 from the previous week's revised level. The previous week's level was revised down by 4,000 from 1,368,000 to 1,364,000. The 4-week moving average was 1,365,000, an increase of 2,250 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised down by 1,000 from 1,363,750 to 1,362,750.

The total number of continued weeks claimed for benefits in all programs for the week ending October 1 was 1,223,968, a decrease of 30,879 from the previous week. There were 3,279,058 weekly claims filed for benefits in all programs in the comparable week in 2021.
