I recall a recession in the 1950s when it was being claimed that all work was going to be automated, done by robots. Well, all the jobs didn't go away then, and they won't go away now.

Some jobs do disappear entirely. Probably not too many buggy-whip makers these days. But the unemployment rate is all of 4.4%, which means almost everyone can get a job.
