I have to watch it and make sure the sleep light starts flashing or it will stay on with the screen black, heating up. Then when I open it I have to restart it. I finally realized that if I touch the mouse or move it wrong that it stays awake/wakes up. If that happens and I lift the lid fast enough it saves me restarting.

Its done the same under the last 2 operating systems, I think I have snow leopard now. I don't know if I have enough room to install yosemite, the hard drive is pretty much full.
