The way I used to be able to get it to work was that when I clicked on a link in the email it would present me with a group of icons for the browsers I have installed, and I could double tap the one I wanted to use for that link. Much simpler than copying the link, going to the browser, and pasting it. But this is, of course, a first world problem.
