3. If both your screens are 16:9 aspect ratios, 1024 x 768 is not a good choice.

1024 x 768 is a 4:3 aspect ratio. Can you set the resolutions to 1920 x 1080, or 1280 x 720, or 1366 x 768? (Just try the highest available 16:9 aspect resolution and if you don't like the results, wait for the computer to revert back to your current setting (30 seconds or so), and try another resolution.)
