5. Legacy software

I don't know much about Macs, but I've heard that some of the older ones have software that is permanent and doesn't have to be leased every year. Good for some tasks depending what's installed on it. I think you could install some version of Linux on it, like Ubuntu. It's not hard or expensive to do that and it's relatively user friendly.
