What kind of modem and router are you using?
Are they separate or a single unit?
And what is your internet service provider/ISP?
Is it ADSL? Cable? Satellite?

Ok. Even if I can't help, with the above info, there are tons of good folks on DU that will. I have received plenty of help.

This is very basic, but can you recycle your modem/router by turning them off and waiting a few seconds before turning them back on. Also, make sure all cables are properly connected. If you haven't done this already, it's amazing what it can solve. I do this about once every week or so (when the family is sleeping, of course), and things run fine.

If this doesn't work, we'll all try to help out!
