Amdro is really dangerous poison to people, pets, and wildlife. Read the label and you will see that it cannot be used around food crops or where anything living will come in contact with it except ants. Rather hard to do.

Terro is effective, but if you read the ingredients, the active ingredient is just Borax. I have used Terro in the past, but it only works for sweet-loving ants (like those big black ants that I get here). (And Amdro works on oil-loving ants.) I get the same results as I do with Terro when I use Borax mixed in sugar water or honey, at a much lower cost.
