1. When I stripped layers of paint from the window frames of my old 1858 house, I found the

window maker had autographed the frames. They also had the dimensions and indicated where they went in the house ( NE bedroom wall, for example) written in pencil. I took photos, with a film camera and traced his signature. I was able to locate information on the carpenter at the local historical society.
