I am reading a really good biography about Albert Einstein, (Einstein His Life and Universe by Walter Isaacson) In it we have quotes from Einstein discussing the $10,000 (a pile of money during the depression) bounty that the Nazis placed on his head. If he was captured they intended to hang him as a traitor. He wasn't far ahead of the Nazis when he got out of the country. The Nazis hated him for his "Jewish Science" and his refusal support the Party, and of course simply because he was Jewish. Einstein, with is wry sense of humor, commented that he didn't know his head was worth that much. 
The Republican who attack Fauci are cut from the batch of same filthy cloth.
