I lived in Alexandria, VA, 1969-1979. Near Old Town. One year, sometime in the late '70s, fall was especially spectacular. I worked at DCA, National airport, and that fall I was working a morning shift. Many days, when I got off work at 4:30 I'd drive down the GW Parkway all the way to Mount Vernon, just to see the trees and the leaves. I was so glad I could do that.
