About 20 to 30 people had been living at the encampment, estimated Paul Dragon of the Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity. He said Monday that nine to 12 people have been set up in hotels, two are relocating to other areas, a few have requested campers and others were still looking for housing.

More will be eligible for hotel vouchers now because of the cold weather.

I don't live there, but my understanding is that the recent raid (drugs/guns/violence) was one of the last straws. Neighbors were scared.

I agree there needs to be solution. I do think that most people living there are being helped. It may not be enough (I don't know). But these articles make it seem like Vermont isn't doing anything. I do think there's been a ton of outreach
