I have had connections to Channel Five during my time in Nashville. I even flew in the New5 chopper one time to cover an event with them. The people I have dealt with are decent enough.

Unfortunately, almost every southerner is a decent person when you first meet them. Time usually tells the truth. Like any red state, some of them are great... in person. In voting and personal choices behind closed doors, however...
