Seriously though. So he was caught, like many others talking to someone with a FISA warrant. Pretty sure many of these same congress people pushed for the FISA court and the over-reaching Patriot Act post 911. No sympathy from me.

The unmasking was most likely because the conversation(s?) was about detailed government issues. The warrant seekers needed to be sure the person giving the information was okayed to do so in his/her government capacity. If it was determined to be some lower staff or contract hire with full detailed knowledge about the information discussed, there could be an internal problem. I am sure some under FISA warrant had legitimate reasons to have contact with our government as well as more nefarious reasons for other contacts. Isn't that to be expected from "spies".
