NH Supreme Court Justice Marconi (R) to remain on leave following indictments [View all]
The states Supreme Court ordered Thursday that an associate justice would remain on leave following her indictments on two felonies.
Associate Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court Anna Barbara Hantz Marconi was first put on administrative leave by the court in late July. On Wednesday, the New Hampshire Attorney Generals office announced she had been indicted by a grand jury on allegations that she interfered with the criminal investigation of her husband. She was also charged with five misdemeanors.
Her leave is extended pending further developments in that case and any other proceedings related to the conduct at issue, the order read.
Chief Justice Gordon J. MacDonald, Senior Associate Justice James P. Bassett, Justice Patrick E. Donovan, and Justice Melissa B. Countway concurred with the order.
