This will change. LEO's views have clearly changed. They no longer view their job as a "protect and serve" the public it is clear that they see it as being at war with the public.

Watching the documentary lastnight on PBS "Peace Officer" demonstrated this very poignantly. They need to be held accountable for their actions.
