the town trustees unanimously approved 13 more new oil and gas wells close to two densely populated subdivisions. Some wells will be as close as 700 feet from homes and schools and new homes may be built even closer to the Encana oil sites. Most Erie residents have fought this decision for two years and have packed the hearings. One small decision about the 55,000 wells we already have in Colorado shows the power of big oil and gas in our beautiful state and how our elected representatives are not listening to the people of Colorado.
